North and South Extensions of the Tramway and Creation of a Stabling and Maintenance Facility with a Park-and-Ride

The main challenges of the project are to enhance the attractiveness of the tramway system, ensure its long-term adaptability, and carry out the urban regeneration of the thoroughfares used by the line and the emblematic public squares it crosses.
This revitalization aims to reconcile all street uses—pedestrians, public transport, private vehicles, local access, and parking—in coherence with the related operations planned in the area.

Close to the city center, on the Dromel–Montfuron site covering more than 2.5 hectares, the agency’s specific role focuses on the design of the future maintenance and stabling facility, as well as the redevelopment of the Dromel transport hub.

The construction of this 30,000 m² complex provides an opportunity to create an unprecedented public space and a renewed urban landscape.
This ambitious building, fully integrated into its surroundings, will improve connectivity between the park-and-ride facility, the metro, and the tramway.

The Maintenance and Stabling Facility (SMR) is dedicated to the servicing and storage of 30 tramway trainsets.
Integrated into the project, a 700-space Park-and-Ride facility for cars and two-wheelers allows users to park their vehicles and continue their journeys by public transport.

To this end, it benefits from a multimodal hub formed by the immediate proximity of the Dromel Metro Station, the Dromel Bus Hub, and the future Dromel Tramway Station, all brought together within a single, unified location.
