Pyramides d’Argent 2022 – Pays de la Loire
Societal Impact category
Competition winner, 2018
Project completed, 2026
Environmental Approach
RT2012
Reuse of materials from the site
Use of low-carbon concrete
Renovation of 30% of the project’s final floor area
Preservation of two Art Deco buildings, representing approximately 20% of the Cour Monselet floor area. An additional wing dating from the late 1980s is also retained. As a result, 30% of the project’s total floor area consists of refurbishment. Adapting the existing buildings for housing and co-living use is both a design and construction challenge; however, retaining the structural elements significantly reduces the environmental impact of the development.

Conversion of two existing buildings into collective housing and co-living accommodation, and construction of three new residential buildings and a childcare facility on the site of the former Sourdille Clinic in Nantes.
At the heart of the project, we chose to develop a “garden to be seen,” visible from the dwellings and through the building openings.
This highly landscaped inner courtyard is a living space that becomes animated and evolves with the changing seasons.
