Construction of an office building.

Place Ferrié is a major urban node. Located at the intersection of key arterial routes, it underpins the development of the La Capelette district to the east, which is why the tramway project includes a stop at this location. The extension of the tram line will transform Place Ferrié as part of a broader strategy to regenerate the district. It is within this context that the project is conceived.

The project is structured through a horizontal stratification. First, a thick base plinth, treated in tinted concrete, anchors the building to the street and defines the square. Its depth and material expression reference the enclosing walls of the adjacent park—alternately built in dressed stone or brick—hence the choice of tinted concrete. As an evolving material, it develops a patina over time, with its colour shifting according to light conditions. A second, more slender and diaphanous layer introduces variations in height and echoes the massing of the surrounding buildings. Vertical elements in white concrete are introduced; the façade opens up more generously and the project progressively reaches toward the horizon. The final layer, conceived as a vertical extension, creates emergent volumes and completes the project’s dynamic composition. The horizon becomes fully apparent, opening onto the wider landscape.
